About Jason Shipley

I have worked for NAPA Auto Parts my entire adult life. I started in May 1990 as a counterman at Woodward Auto Parts in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. I was promoted to Assistant Manager after a few years. In 2004, I decided to take a position with Genuine Parts Company Corporate-owned NAPA). I was enrolled in GPC's management training program and joined the management team of a large, corporately owned NAPA store. I was promoted to Territory Sales Manager in early 2006, where I represented privately owned NAPA stores (commonly known as Jobbers). I helped them with nearly anything they needed, from advertising, store sales, tool shows, and relocation. During my time as a TSM, I met an independent owner in the Cleveland area who was very persistent and convinced me to come to work for him and run his group of five NAPA stores. I started as the General Manager and was eventually promoted to Vice President over all store operations. In May 2015, Genuine Parts Company bought this group of stores, so I returned to work for GPC. I continued to run this group of stores for GPC as an Area Manager until July of 2017, when GPC asked me to take on the role of District Manager in Carlisle, PA, over a 38-store NAPA district. On the move again in 2019, I was promoted to District Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana, over a 14-store local/IBS district. In early 2020, I was asked to dual role and cover the Fort Wayne District as their District Manager, bringing the store count to 2 Hubs, eight locals, and 9 IBS. In 2022, I was asked to return to Ohio to run a newly acquired 24-store group purchased from the Washington family. This group was unique in that its own warehouse that fed the stores, and four of them had a NAPA/Do-It-Best hardware store combo. In 2025, I was promoted to a new role as Marketing Director, Store Operations. I was asked to take on a new group of stores to focus on operations to provide superior customer service and grow sales in our current markets.
