About Jason Siem

I am an individual that has worn many hats though out his life. I have owned and operated my own music school for 15 years. I have also been a project manager for a national marketing agency for 5 years. This experience is what put my on the path I am today. I am currently finishing my computational data science / business analytics degree and I couldn't be more excited and honored to start working in the field. At Hamline I have learned many skills. A few very important skills that cannot be taught in a textbook are leadership as well as the love to learn, research, and the idea of acceptance and an appreciation for diversity. We are defined by who we include, not who we exclude. We all have something to learn from each other. Some of the skills I have learned are in computer programming, using programs like Python, R, MySQL, and AWS, Excel, and to be honest many many more. I figure that learning a new programming language just comes with the field, I'll never be done perfecting the ones I know, and I'll never be done learning new ones. My education at Hamline has been challenging to say the least. I have learned a lot about statistics, regression, break even analysis, central limit theorem, discreet math including using a matrix. The biggest thing I've learned is my place and role in the world, to be a good communicator, and to be a team player with a positive attitude.
