About Jason Stricker

As Chief Policy Officer at K12 Coalition, I lead initiatives that connect education policy, leadership development, and strategic planning to drive systemic improvement in K–12 public education across the U.S. and globally.Before joining K12 Coalition, I founded Insight Education Group, where I served as CEO for over 20 years. During that time, I built and led a nationally recognized education consulting firm dedicated to partnering with school systems to improve instructional quality, develop leadership capacity, and achieve sustainable student outcomes. Insight’s impact reached hundreds of districts and schools, ultimately leading to a strategic merger with K12 Coalition to expand our collective mission.Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the chief architect of instructional and leadership frameworks for major school systems, including District of Columbia Public Schools, Chicago Public Schools, Shelby County (TN), Guilford County (NC), and Syracuse City Schools—tools that continue to shape how teachers are supported and how leaders grow.To support the alignment between local policy and practice I created and launched a statewide leadership training program in Maryland, designed to bring together school leaders, district administrators, and board members to align policy, resource allocation, and professional development. Additionally, I have worked with Superintendents and boards of education across the county to support long-term planning. Most recently I facilitated the development of the School District of Philadelphia’s Strategic Plan and long-term facilities plan, supporting the district’s path toward coherent, sustainable improvement.Internationally, I co-developed a school leader training program for the Kingdom of Jordan, in collaboration with the Queen Rania Teaching Academy and the University of Connecticut—helping to cultivate globally minded instructional leadership.My work continues to focus on aligning policy and practice to create the conditions for coherence and excellence for all in public education systems.I'm the co-author of Strategic Design for Student Achievement (2009, Teachers College) and Coaching for Change (2008, Insight Education Group).
