About Jason Strunk

I have been an active choral conductor for nearly two decades, and have conducted choirs ranging from middle school to civic choirs in both the United States and internationally. In rehearsals, I incorporate diverse learning strategies through the application of Dalcroze, Orff, and Kodaly methodologies while promoting sound vocal health. Additionally, I believe the most sympathetic performance occurs at the junction of the musical skill and musicology, and am passionate about singers understanding and owning the music he or she makes. I am committed to the advancement of the choral art through the reimagining of the concert experience. My creative agenda includes the development of America's choral theater center. This a home for choral and theater artists to engage with the choral idiom in new and relevant ways for the purpose of presenting the choral art to new audiences. As an administrator, my primary in the planning and execution of events. As a team leader and producer, I have been responsible for significant recruitment and development events in an academic setting. Under my leadership recruitment events brought several hundred students to campus for a quality musical experience, and development events brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars for the funding of the choral program. Further, I have extensive experience in academic advisement and oversight of graduate cohorts. As a performer, I have worked in musical theater, opera, oratorio, and choral settings. Key performances have been with Brad Oscar, Molly Smith, Jason Ferrante, James Newton Howard, Liz Callaway, Linda Eder, Andrea Bocelli, and M. Night Shyamalan.
