About Jason Tran

Started Utility Locating in 2012 until now. I have 11 years of experience. Did field work for most of the time and now in the office doing more of an administrative role. The role I am in now is Supervisor. The task that was appointed to me are quantity control for locates reports, health and safety and training field staff on locating procedures. Working closely with managers in educating our clients about the rules and regulations of ground disturbance in Ontario. Guiding clients through the Locate process and providing clients more confident when breaking ground. Such as different between Public locates and Private Locates, how the Utility locating equipment works and different kinds of equipment suitable for the right jobs as some utilities are difficult to trace then others. Help field staff troubleshoot their problems they encounter when tracing services. With my knowledge of Underground Utilities and how they are laid out in the ground, I can tell if the work that has been preform was poorly done or thoroughly completed. I can break down a Locate report and see if the locator has provided the correct measures for clients to break ground. With that knowledge, I can determine if our locators are completing the job to company expectations. I look over all field staff reports every week and if there are issue that need to be mention in the report, I would bring it up and fix the problem. We take every issues as a learning experience. I help office staff with project coordination such as dispatching/scheduling, cost estimates. Ontario One call coordination's to mean our clients deadlines, and accounting department with billing.
