About Jason Violette

Currently I am a Registry Data Analyst at MSSIC (Michigan Spine Surgery Improvement Collaborative) housed at Henry Ford Health Systems. I am a graduate from the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University. I have my Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Business Analytics that was completed in June 2020. My goal is to consistently develop my professional skills and knowledge in the field on analytics, that allows for my continued growth within an organization while being exposed to new processes to advance my skill set further. My school and work experience have allowed me to develope a wide range of skills. Prioritization: Daily focus on changing needs from upper leadership to each site I support on data needs. During my time pursuing my degree I also maintained a full time and part-time job. I had to make sure that I was constantly on top of assignments and projects for school to establish proper time to complete them in between 50+ hours of work each week. To do this I utilized several scheduling resources as well as holding myself accountable on a daily basis to know of any deadlines approaching. Critical Thinking: Critical thinking is a huge part of a career in analytics. In my current role I must continually look at the larger picture and look to what is actually needed and wanted. A large portion of my degree focuses on using this skill to uncover problems and ways to present solutions. In my Big Data course I had to take raw data from organizations and utilize different computer programs to develop flow charts and reports to highlight areas of focus, as well as provide solutions to correct any issues. In doing this it allowed for me to showcase and forecast areas of opportunity. This allowed me to hone my critical thinking skills, optimize my performance, and establish results in a timely manner. Team Development: Developing a strong team is a big key to any successful business. In my current role I help to develop new abstractors,sites and members of our team on registry functions. In my work experience as a manager in retail, I oversaw interviewing of candidates that I felt would be great assets to the organization. Once hired in, I was in charge of helping to develop the team’s skills and knowledge of procedures in order to maintain leading status for my location within the company.
