About Jason Volbeda

I became a father of twin boys when I was 15 years old. The toughest and most rewarding life lesson I’ve had. I embraced parenthood and literally grew up alongside my boys who are now grown men doing their own great work in the world. I am additionally blessed with four beautiful grandchildren. Challenging the status quo inspires me. Creativity, a passion for new experiences, self motivation, and an inability to settle for “average” are four common threads linking my diverse professional and personal story. I have event organised United Nations conferences in post-war conflict zones, managed hospitals in remote African locations, balanced the creative with the business strategy behind the dazzling lights of the entertainment industry, and even enforced law as a police officer.I have survived and thrived in these fast paced environments by remaining steadfastly focussed on achieving goals, consuming adequate quantities of coffee, and being partnered with an amazing soul, my wife, who knows when to remind me to lighten up and stop taking myself so seriously. I possess a steely determination to achieve goals and get the job done. This really comes in handy, although the trade-off is a deficit of “patience” - a quality I’m learning to respect and master. I’m now working in a sector seldom seen by mainstream society. It’s an absolute privilege and it’s more than rewarding in helping others in such extreme circumstances. My diverse skills set includes: communications, issues and crisis management, sales and business development, motivating teams, relationship building and creating compelling strategies to achieve commercial objectives – which is really a shiny way of saying – helping people. When I’m not taking myself so seriously, I like to paint abstract art, play the piano, eat authentic slow fermented sourdough, and write children’s books tailored to engage my grandchildren in the joy of reading.
