Jason Wadden is a Partner and Head of the Insolvency & Restructuring practice at Tyr LLP. He has a broad business law litigation practice, with a particular emphasis on corporate-commercial, insolvency and restructuring, class actions, corruption and fraud, competition, and cross-border matters. Jason also acts for both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of corporate and commercial litigation, including shareholder and partnership disputes, directors’ negligence and directors’ liability matters, fraud, injunctive relief (including Anton Pillar and Mareva injunctions), and complex contractual disputes. In the insolvency and restructuring field, Jason acts for debtors, court-appointed officers and creditors in various insolvency and restructuring situations. In competition matters, Jason acts for companies who are the focus of competition (antitrust) complaints, including defendants in price fixing conspiracy cases, and targets of Competition Bureau investigations. From 2015 to 2020, Jason was appointed by the Ontario government as a member of the Halton Regional Police Services Board, a civilian board that oversees the Halton Regional Police Service. From 2010 to 2014, Jason was appointed by the Ontario government as a director of the Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), which is responsible for administering over $1.2 billion in provincial health care funding in the region. Jason is also a former director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton. Jason is a former adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law for the University of Western Ontario, where he taught Civil Procedure to senior law students. While studying at Western Law, Jason was awarded numerous prizes for academic achievement, and assisted in writing various texts in the areas of personal property secured transactions (including the leading treatise on secured transactions), debt restructurings and alternative dispute resolution.
