About Jason Walter

Starting in junior year of high school I was offered a apprenticeship to work for a smaller grinding shop near my hometown. I completed my apprenticeship in the 2 years and worked there for 3 years afterwards. I learned about everything within a machine shop. Blue print reading, different types of inspection equipment and running a large assortment of machines. I have run Blanchard grinders and mattison grinders of all sizes. Also running surface grinder double disk grinders and flat honing machines holding tolerances of for certain customers. After Columbia Grinding I accepted a job at the Eaton corporation running Mazak cnc machines. There I ran and set up HMC’s, VMC’s, Mazak lathes. And I also learned how to run a Ganesh Swiss style lathe. I’ve currently been in my role at Eaton for 4 years. Have lots of experience holding tight tolerances and having to check finishes and maintain good finishes on parts for customers. I also attended UW-Milwaukee for a year and a half for mechanical engineering. I did not complete this degree because I found more interest in matching and doing hands on work. I am very much a hardworking individual that wants to always keep learning and staying busy. I’m always looking to hone my craft and better myself.
