Since March 2018, I have led a small team of developers on a mature mass transaction processing system used by some of the most well-known investment and insurance houses in South Africa. My goals in this position are to achieve performance breakthroughs through T-SQL query tuning and data archiving, plug holes in the testing framework, and apply changes to the code base to make it easier to navigate and maintain. Aside from my job and my degree, I have completed online courses through Coursera and Udacity in iOS programming, statistics, financial mathematics and algorithms. I read, hike and climb in my spare time.From 2012 to 2016, I worked on.NET systems. The languages, frameworks and tools I used include C#, SQL Server, NUnit, Selenium, JavaScript, ASP.NET WebForms, ASP.NET MVC, WCF, Oracle, MongoDB and AWS. The projects I worked on included the following:• A document management system with a MongoDB back-end for Eskom.• A trust and compliance management system for an overseas client.• A prepaid electricity payment portal used by TUMS to service bulk electricity users in the Tshwane municipal area.• An account verification service.• A tool for exporting large (million+ rows) SQL queries to Microsoft Excel.• The mass transaction processing system mentioned above.From 2016 to March 2018, I worked on on Android and iOS demo apps for potential clients. The apps include form digitisation, customer background checking, customer onboarding and FICA verification. They exploit device capabilities and networked with web APIs including those of Google Vision, Microsoft Cognitive Services and pbVerify, as well as our own APIs hosted on AWS. They perform document OCR; fingerprint scanning with a peripheral scanner; PDF generation; map route plotting; voice recording; encryption of files and transmissions; and networking with AWS servers.You can mail me at jason.wedepohl@gmail.com.
