Most people don’t train for emergencies. They rehearse for approval. For optics. For the clipboard in the back of the room checking boxes while the real threats are already inside the walls. I don’t do that. I train hospitals to function when things go sideways—not when the lights are on, the suits are watching, and someone remembered the color-coded checklist that never met a real emergency. I train for the moment after the lights go out, and the guy in charge forgot his password, and someone’s kid is coding in a hallway with no backup. I live in the blueprint before the bang. The moment where preparation either exists or it doesn’t—and pretending won’t save you. What I actually do: • Make people uncomfortable enough to improve. • Translate existential risk into plain English. • Pressure-test systems until the weak points bleed. What I’m not: • Your corporate yes-man with a pocketful of acronyms and no spine. • A fan of simulations that stop short of actual consequence. • Impressed by policies that look good in audits but fail in daylight. What I know: Hospitals don’t fail because disaster caught them off guard. They fail because accountability was outsourced, planning was performed, and everyone mistook compliance for competence. What keeps me up at night: Knowing that somewhere, someone’s loved one will walk into a hospital that prepped for a completely different disaster—and everyone will look surprised when things fall apart. I’m not here for gold stars or moral high ground. I’m here because when the lights go out, someone damn well better know what the hell they’re doing.
