A proven top executive with 30 years experience. Recognised as “an original thinker who challenges conventional wisdom”. An operationally focussed leader having served five tours in the Balkans, three tours in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan - delivering multi-faceted and comprehensive solutions to complex challenges in non-permissive environments. An experienced project manager with a proven track record having overseen the capability development of the Iraqi Border Police and built the Helmand Provincial Police Training Centre while mentoring the Chief of Police. Comprehensive understanding of Humanitarian Aid - from operating alongside the UNHCR and NGOs during the siege of Sarajevo and the liberation of Kosovo - and Disaster Relief having led the planning and delivery of the UK response to hurricanes in the Caribbean. Led a Squadron (120 pax) on operations in Iraq and subsequently commanded my Regiment as the ISTAR BG (1100 pax) in Helmand on Op HERRICK 15 - developing novel and innovative solutions to enhance understanding and enable the right outcomes. Commanded 7 Infantry Brigade (The Desert Rats) as the UK’s High Readiness Warfighting Brigade. In the staff I have served at PJHQ developing policy in support of operations in Iraq. Subsequent experience in the MOD ensured a broad understanding and in-depth appreciation of Defence capability and financial planning. Served at NATO HQ as a Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Military Committee, at the political-military interface. building consensus across a 30 nation Alliance in response to the crisis in the Crimea. Subsequently assumed responsibility for running NATO’s missions, operations and activities as the Director of the CCOMC at SHAPE. During the early stages of the pandemic was responsible for generating and coordinating the Army’s response pandemic as ACOS Ops at Land Operations Command. Currently a Project Manager working to Army HQ. Current interests revolve around hill-walking, windsurfing and being a dutiful father!
