Background

About Jaspreet Parmar

Registered Social Worker, with a demonstrated history of working with children, youth and family community services. As many would say, “hard work pays off”. I led my educational experiences into field practicums as if they were a job I had been working at for multiple years. I was working as PDD support worker at Family Connections where I learned how relationships were at the core front of managing behavioural needs & concerns of adults with developmental delays. I graduated in 2019 and started at Chimo Youth Retreat Centre in the Family Wellness Program as a Family Wellness Coordinator. I worked front-line 2 years and gained a leadership opportunity as a Team Lead within the program. Less than a year later, I transpired into the Family Wellness Supervisor role in May 2022. I oversee six diverse & talented staff members. My role comes with ensuring job roles & responsibilities are maintained but developing & building the capacity of each one of my staff member’s on how they can continue to support the children, youth & families we work with. During my evenings and weekends, I support children who have been sexualized abused & undergoing therapeutic services at Little Warriors, Be Brave Ranch. I love to play board games, make slime & watch movies with children who need that time to pause & reflect on what has happened to them. I love seeing them flourish into the most resilient & powerful human beings they are. Although, our work is exhausting & demanding - I am currently surrounded by a team that challenges, builds & strengthens my capacity to do the work I do.
