About Javed Bari

Have vast teaching and industry experience in Civil Engineering especially in the Transport sector, obtained in both USA (11 years) and Bangladesh- Registered Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) in USA (have an active license)- U.S. South-West Regional expert in the field of Transportation Engineering. Worked as a Senior Transportation Engineer at Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT)- International and local experiences of consultancy including at the World Bank- In Bangladesh, worked for 6 years in all three major Government civil engineering departments; namely LGED (Local Govt. Engineering Dept.), PWD (Public Works Dept.) and RHD (Roads & Highways Dept.), and also worked closely with the development partners such as the World Bank, ADB, IDB, USAID, EU, CIDA and DFID, and NGOs such as CARE, Proshika etc. thus having very good understanding of their policies and work processes- Have sound knowledge of Bangladesh Government’s administrative systems and procedures, and the administrative, political, development issues of Bangladesh- Experienced and formally trained in project development, pavement design and construction, urban transportation system management and long-range planning, strategic planning, project/personnel management, capacity building, institutional development, governance enhancement, disaster management, incident command system, liaison/coordination among various interest groups, advanced research/analyses, environmental audit, EIA, etc- Skilled in communicating in English and in writing/reviewing reports.
