About Javier Andreu-Perez

With over 12 years of experience in human-centred intelligent systems research and education, I am a Reader at the University of Essex, where I lead my research group, teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, mostly in the field of Artificial Intelligence. I also conduct cutting-edge research in human-centred artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and large language modelling, collaborating with academic and industry partners to solve real-world problems and publish high-quality papers. Prior to joining Essex, I was a researcher at Imperial College London and Lancaster University, where I completed my PhD in Intelligent Systems and contributed to multiple projects in the School of Computing and Communications. My core competencies include designing, developing, and evaluating intelligent systems, applying advanced analytical and computational techniques, and communicating complex concepts and results to diverse audiences. I am passionate about advancing the field of intelligent systems and enhancing the learning outcomes and experiences of my students. I value innovation, collaboration, and excellence, and I strive to make a positive impact on society and the environment through my research and teaching.
