About Javier Barbero

Since graduating, I have been working in the field of labour relations: for more than 11 years in a public labour administration, including the ILO, and for 14 years in the private sector as general manager. During all this time, I have always shared my main activity with the position of university professor and conciliator and mediator in industrial disputes, and also, with other social responsibilities (Chamber of Commerce and Industries, National Association of OSH advisory companies, Member of organizations against social exclusion and poverty.) My experience as labour, social security and occupational safety and health inspector in both field and headquarters positions, jointly with my most recent position, as the general manager of and advisory company on occupational safety and health, gave me a great deal of experience on compliance and promotion of the improvement of conditions of work to contribute to a sustainable economic and social development. My experience encompasses project management, strategic planning, resource utilization and proactive management of crucial relationships in both public and private sectors I bring to any job a strong work ethic and desire to succeed, a willingness to cooperate with others, and a need to produce quality work. I think that my proven leadership skills, strong commitment to high ethical and professional standards, and flexibility in devising proactive responses to changing socioeconomic conditions are very relevant for many professional challenges.
