About Javiera Constanzo

Veterinarian from the University of Chile and Master of Science in Conservation Medicine from Tufts University (MA, USA). I have focused my last 15 years on gaining experiences that enrich my skills to generate positive impacts for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem health, whether from education, art or technical activities carried out with neatness and efficiency, generating science-based information for decision makers. Currently I am an Assistant Scientific Director at Wildlife Conservation Society in Chile, where I have led and supported several projects related to the coexistence of human activities with biodiversity, strengthening collaborative and synergistic actions between public and private actors. I have experience in field work activities, monitoring, management and containment of wildlife, laboratory analysis and teaching at universities, as well as participation in proposals, leadership and team support in marine and terrestrial conservation projects. I have worked for large investment projects with ecosystem impacts, ensuring that the works are executed in accordance with regulations and with the least possible negative effect, as well as for civil society organizations, in order to make direct contributions to the conservation of biodiversity and the welfare of the national fauna. My work experience in various institutions, with multidisciplinary teams has strengthened my ability to adapt to diverse scenarios, as well as my ability to promote challenging projects or initiatives for the goals of the organizations in which I have worked, managing work plans in an agile manner, guiding the teams that I have supported or led towards the achievement of objectives.
