Graduate of a CEAB accredited engineering program interested in getting out of the desk chair as often as possible. Learning and working in the field with the equipment and troubleshooting problems as they arise is enjoyable. Also enjoy familiarizing with specific pieces of equipment and systems to become a resource for others who are looking for information and assistance. Written and supervised the execution of many procedures and work plans to safely configure systems for removal and installation of various system components such as valve, pumps, level switches, etc. Supervised a small section of 5 other engineers within the Process - Balance of Plant at AECL providing oversight and review of activities and decisions made within the section to maintain safe operation of the section's systems and, more generally, the safe operation of the reactor itself. I then moved from working in the office where I planned and co-ordinated work and worked as a Fuel Rods shift supervisor who is responsible for supervision of a small crew of operators whose main function is to perform safe fueling operations in NRU. I have now moved back to a more technical job at the Universal Hot Cells for CNL (formerly AECL) as an Operations Specialist performing similar functions to what I formerly did at NRU before becoming a shift supervisor. The current work differs in that there is more opportunity to have a more leading role in small to medium sized projects, to interface with internal and external customers, as well as opportunities to be involved in component selection for maintenance and upgrades and budgeting. I currently work in an industrial environment and would like to continue to do so. Specialties: Given multiple tours of the NRU facility and Universal Cells facility to groups of people ranging from 1 - 20 and ranging in backgrounds from new employees to local government officials. Public speaking and presentation are not problems.
