About Jay Archer

My name is Jay Archer. For the past 25 years, I have made my living as a landscape designer and contractor. From landscape design, organic lawn care, fine gardening, property management, I’ve done it all at a high professional level. My creative landscape design compositions have featured custom masonry, woodworking, swimming pools, water features (ponds, waterfalls, streams) and gorgeous flower gardens. My passion for nature has inspired me to work with native plants, trees, plant communities as well as rain gardens, rainwater harvesting systems, storm water management, aquatic wetland restoration, ecological landscape management and organics. From architectural features such as decks, patios, pool, gazebo, fences, to fire pits, sculpture and art in the garden, to innovations in bioengineering, my compositions are varied and diverse. I have been fortunate and blessed to work with many clients both public and private to develop innovative design and management protocols. My approach to design, development and management is broadly holistic. I am committed to producing beautifully attractive aesthetic design as well as managing and conserving resources to achieve the highest result. Executing the vision with economy of resources is my desire and stated goal.As a naturalist, design professional and horticulturalist, I strongly believe there are limitless possibilities to improve our health and living environment through employing the principles and practices of 'Landscapes for Better Living' and Ecological Landscaping. I care deeply about the health of our landscape environment and have worked to increase awareness and appreciation of our beautiful natural world for our children and our children’s children.
