PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Investigate and interpret coverage, liability, and damages issues to determine the extent of insured's exposure for both first party and third-party liability claim.• Review and escalate complex claims requiring coverage counsel determination.• Obtain, investigate, and evaluate the facts of loss, police report, statement, photographs, surveillance video and dashcam video to properly determine liability outcomes. • Develop and execute of strategies for claim resolution.• Summarize case events and submit files to file retention system upon receipt.• Evaluate and prepare detailed case summary reports related to matter of significant reserve activity. • Set reserves within authority or provide claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to management.• Assign and supervise independent adjusters, vendor resources and experts as needed, including, but not limited to assigned defense counsel.• Successfully review and evaluate all aspects of claims for negotiation of settlement within authority range.• Prepare written communication, including, but not limited to settlement agreements, disclaimers of coverage and reservation of rights letters.• Properly review and escalate claims to senior management with potential exposure beyond my authority.• Investigate, evaluate, and settle both pre-litigation and litigated bodily injury liability claims.• Appear and participate in mediations, arbitrations and settlement conferences in attempt to settle claims prior to trial.• Recognize and pursue recovery opportunities and prepare submissions to SIU when required.• Provide outstanding customer service and communication with the insured, broker, and counsel in the adjustment of all claims.• Appear and present claim updates in client meetings to support client retention and further development of client relationships.• Successfully evaluate and monitor excess coverage claims to through claims process to resolution.• Effectively manage substantial caseload of claims with current diary while maintaining a successful closing ratio.• Work with underwriters to support risk assessment, data analysis and report on claim trends.• Actively participate in shaping the company culture by participating in employee recourse groups and volunteering.
