About Jay Beene

Through my time at Texas Mutual (27+ years), I have worked through the Underwriting back-office support positions (2 years), in the field as an underwriter (4 years), and then supervisor of Underwriting back-office operations (4 years). My career then moved to shaping the Underwriting system projects and updates. Starting in 1995, I have been on many system projects. The new direction allowed me to be able to drive multiple initiatives more effectively. As a Process Analyst (4 years) and Sr Process Analyst (3 years), I interpreted business requirements from Underwriting so that IT could program them effectively, and then I would re-translate the system back to the users in a way they could understand. As I transitioned into the Sr. Manager of Underwriting Systems (4 years), I took on a team of Process Analysts to better manage the volume of ongoing efforts. In my current role, I also influence the company direction for Underwriting system updates while still supporting the existing systems and ongoing efforts where applicable.
