About Jay Campanell

Hi, my name is Jay Campanell, I'm an undergraduate student studying Global Geodesign at USC! Global Geodesign is a major at the intersection of Architecture, Urban Planning, and Statistics/Data Science. My specific interest lies in geospatial data and extracting information about the environment because I truly believe everyone is a product of the environment they are in, regardless if they are aware of it or not. I am also a self-taught R developer with a specialization in visualizations and interactive visualization web apps. I love the data science process because of the iterative nature of it. Taking an abstract idea and finding out how actually to create something and then tinkering with what I made to find even more insights is a process that never gets old for me. I have worked with data in a wide variety of fields such as administrative data, public health, sociology, tech/AI, and web development. My past times include watching Esports and playing League of Legends, making homemade matcha with my own syrups (banana bread matcha is my favorite) and planning my next trip!
