About Jay Davis

With nearly three years in public accounting under my belt, I am proud to bring a lot of core strengths to the table: Experience with a wide number of return types: individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), S-corps (1120S) and corporations (1120), corresponding SALT returns. Even some trust (1041), gift (709) and exempt organization (990) filings. Hands-on mentorship & team building: Review the work of my juniors–interns and first year staff–so I can give constructive feedback and quick review notes. Hands on training where I make sure they understand the concepts behind why we are doing what we are doing–it improves their consistency. Owning client relationships: I never shy away from picking up the phone. If there is an issue I can resolve by reaching out, let me take that off my senior’s plate. It makes for a better experience for everyone. Notice response & tax controversy: Analyze IRS/state notices, research applicable regulations, draft responses, and present my findings to my senior. Industries served: Real estate & rental, construction, healthcare, professional services, insurance, hospitality, tech/SaaS and startups and more. I earned my Bachelor’s in Accounting from University of North Florida, where I was Board Member at Large for Beta Alpha Psi XI ETA. In 2022 I graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude). During that summer, I interned with BDO at their Jacksonville FL office. That winter I moved to Orlando, FL and started my career proper at DiMercurio Advisors as a Tax Associate. In Beta Alpha Psi I discovered my passion for helping others understand difficult concepts by tutoring my fellow accounting students as part of our volunteer program. That has carried through in the way I mentor junior staff. Practicing teaching has also helped me in how I communicate with clients.
