Telecommunications is critical to any business. As a technical innovator in wireless telecom with deep experience in strategic planning and tactical operations, I’ve built a track record of leading successful data-driven, ROI-focused product development initiatives from concept to launch, such as: AGLOCELL/BANDWIDTHX: I currently lead technology strategy and customer engagement for Aglocell, which purchased BandwidthX. In my prior role as Senior Director of R&D 5G & LTE at BandwidthX, I designed and developed the algorithm that gave the company all its value when sold to Aglocell. PIVOTAL COMMWARE: I drove $12M in revenue across eight FWA markets in nine months. I streamlined costly Element Management System installation and monitoring, increased SW team productivity 300%, tripled team capacity to 6+ full releases per year, and set the stage for future machine-learning technologies in network optimization with Verizon. QUALCOMM: I built the first digital cellular network in Latin America as project manager and 160-member team lead for all network planning, build, RF optimization, parameter optimization and interface with the Chilean government. I fueled $3M+ in licensing revenue by authoring and contributing to three patents in RAN optimization automation. ORIGINATOR OF NETWORK OPTIMIZATION AUTOMATION: At Qualcomm, I became known for ability to manually optimize networks, developed a patented automation process, and traveled globally to evangelize automation to the largest cellular operators, which led to industry-shifting 3GPP telecom standards, ANR, and SON. HOLDER OF 4 AUTOMATION PATENTS CITED 530+ TIMES: Two patents for geo-location and two for artificial intelligence. I’m known as an enthusiastic, hands-on leader of large international and distributed teams with a high EQ and the ability to attract first-rate people. I motivate and develop employees with a belief in autonomy, mastery and purpose. I understand what helps employees engage and grow, and my team members always go to their next place better than when they arrived under my leadership. As a natural mentor, I also serve as a trusted advisor at C-level, with experience guiding CEOs, CTOs, and VPs in technological understanding and communication. Outside of the office, I’m a professional rock guitarist and electric guitar technician, sound engineer, RC Boat racing builder and champion, eclipse chaser (9 total solar eclipses), volunteer at the U R Special Charity, and avid learner of languages.
