About Jay Edwards

Just like any other decision in life and business, a clear plan must be in place. This starts with looking at what is the most important thing for you and your family. Maybe it is making sure you have enough for retirement, leaving behind an inheritance to your heir or maybe it is something like making sure you have long-term care in place. Whatever the goal is, I am here to help you with achieving it. Growing up in a small town in Southwestern Virginia shaped me for the career I am in today. It gave me the understanding that family and community are the most important things in the world. It is something that was reinforced in the military and law enforcement. My job as a financial advisor is more than just helping you pick a great customized portfolio; it is being there for you in every situation. It is answering the phone at 10pm to help you make it through a difficult time in your life. It is celebrating with you on the news of a child or grandchild. It is learning about your story and understanding what means the most to you. I originally started my educational career in biochemistry at Old Dominion University, but realized I had a desire to serve my country and went active duty with the USMC. After several tours overseas, I made the choice to get out and go into law enforcement. During this time, I returned to college at Strayer University and completed my bachelor's degree in accounting. As I began to make a change from law enforcement to Edward Jones, I was recruited to work in national politics. I served our military and veterans by working on laws to reform the healthcare crisis. All these walks in life have led me to Edward Jones. I am dedicated to using an established process to help you build personalized strategies to reach your goals. I focus on learning what is most important to my clients.
