Background

About Jay Gillon

I have had the privilege of leading people since 1985. I served 26 years in the U.S. Navy and have filled various roles in manufacturing since 2009. Prior to my current role, I was at Schnitzer Steel (Radius Recycling) in Tacoma as the Non-Ferrous Recovery Manager. I was the Production Manager for Pacific Propeller International in Kent. I served briefly as the Production Manager for Quikrete in Tacoma. I had a lengthy and successful term as a Warehouse CPU Performance Manager for Staffmark/Expeditors in Sumner, WA, where I led a crew of 100 warehouse workers in the transload of retail freight. I was the Interim Production Manager during incumbent convalescence at AIM Aerospace in Renton, WA, temporarily responsible for the productivity, welfare and training of nearly 150 hourly associates and their 8 salaried Supervisors. At Ply Gem Windows, I directly led, mentored and guided a team of 5 salaried Manufacturing/Process Engineers, 6 Production Schedulers and Support Specialists, 11 Quality Assurance Technicians and 19 Maintenance Technicians and their salaried Supervisors in resolving manufacturing challenges at the Auburn, WA, and Sacramento and Corona, CA, facilities. Additionally, as Alternate Plant Manager, I assisted in and oversaw the production efforts of 378 manufacturing associates at the Auburn facility during Site Manager absences. I am a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician. My last tour was onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) as the AIMD/IM3 Division LCPO, responsible for a crew of 167 Sailor and Marine technicians and 8 Chief Petty Officers.
