About Jay Gould

As a Special Counsel at Baker Botts, I provide my securities law expertise and fund and adviser experience to firm clients and the partners and other attorneys at Baker Botts who represent them. I train and mentor young associates and teach my colleagues the importance of providing well thought out advice that is actionable by the clients. In my role as a founder and partner of Pave Finance, Inc, I act as the outsourced General Counsel and provide the legal and regulatory advice to this exciting new adviser that provides non-discretionary investment advice to our clients based on an algorithm that has been used to manage money for billionaires for over 10 years. As the former co-leader of the Winston's Financial Services Department and Investment Management practice, I represented U.S-registered investment companies, hedge funds, offshore investment companies, investment advisers, retail and institutional broker-dealers, and municipal bond underwriters in all aspects of the financial services industry. Prior to joining Winston, I served as Chief Counsel for E*TRADE Global Asset Management, Inc, Vice President with TransAmerica Life Companies, Senior Counsel to Bank of America NT & SA, and as an attorney with the Securities and Exchange Commission, White & Case LLP, and two other major international law firms. I am a founding member and director of the California Hedge Fund Association, a consortium of hedge fund managers and industry service providers located throughout California. I am also co-founder, a member of the Board of Directors and legal counsel for the Florida Alternative Investment Association. This South Florida organization of fund managers and hedge fund professionals regularly meets with the Florida state committee that recommends investments to its public pension plan and advocates for responsible hedge fund investing by the Florida pension plan in local fund managers.[ATTORNEY ADVERTISING.
