About Jay Hajare

My profile is a mix of diverse research and writing experiences. I am a public policy professional who is keen to contribute to change in the climate and sustainability space. Through internships in the policy space, I have studied the energy sector and gained key insights on coal-based power that have been enlisted in an online article. I have also undertaken research on the environmental impact of improper waste management, while contributing to an article on the politics of water in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region.Through a foray into the branding space, I have refined my writing skills and practised the art of communicating simply.I am currently pursuing a program fellowship in the Animal Husbandry team at SELCO Foundation. Here, I have undertaken a deep-dive into Assam’s dairy and aquaculture sectors, studying the potential of decentralised renewable energy technologies in uplifting farmers. Through my experience thus far, I have sought to contribute to larger change with my words and ideas. With time, I hope to create a greater impact, and remain interested in roles that involve on-ground implementation too. I believe conversations are a powerful tool for growth - I'm always eager to interact and exchange insights on policy matters!
