We started in the business to educate people and how to best position themselves for financial success. I say all the time that financial planning is an endeavor in education. You don’t know what you don’t know. My job is to establish collaborative relationships with families to help them understand the ‘why’ behind what we’re doing. We are fiduciary advisors which means that our clients best interests come before our own. We’ve built and refined a process to help people retire and keep them retired. We do everything under the guise of stewardship when acting in an advisory relationship and for our team members that word comes from a special place. It’s about having the heart of a teacher and linking small improvements together over time to help position people for success. We take a qualitative approach throughout our engagement process. We choose to work with people that we share a similar value system with. When everyone’s pulling in the same direction it’s easier to get things done and make improvements. We don’t work with thousands of people. Every time we take on a new relationship we make sure that we have the resources to serve the family the way they should be treated. We are a one stop shop for everything financial. From income planning, investment planning, to tax strategies, healthcare and legacy planning. True wealth management is the intersection of all these things coming together under one roof in a seamless proactive manner. Jay Johnson works with retirees and those nearing retirement who want to help protect their principal while ensuring that their money lasts. He focuses on conservative financial strategies that provide the potential for wealth accumulation and help protect retirement assets from market volatility. He has helped employees from Fortune 500 companies make informed decisions about their 401Ks, pension plans, and Social Security benefits after they retired or changed jobs. Jay earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Nebraska, a Masters in Business Administration with a focus on finance from Colorado State University, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He has passed the Series 65 Securities exam, is a registered Investment Adviser Representative and is a licensed insurance professional. He is devoted to his Christian faith, loves to spend time with his family, enjoys watching sports and fly-fishing. Jay currently resides in Beaufort, SC, with his wife Priscilla and two teenage children.
