CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP & MATRIX MANAGEMENT: I managed inventory for four disparate business units at IBM, but by aligning the procurement, finance, SOP planning, manufacturing, and distribution functions of those business units on common guiding principles and process, we were able to achieve record low inventory levels in all four business units and increase cash flow by $180M. MANAGING COMPLEX PROJECTS: I ran the integration of the marketing organization in Lenovo’s $2.1B acquisition of IBM’s x86 business, and the integration of the supply chain organizations in IBM’s $1.8B acquisition of Netezza Corp. I also implemented complex, global, end-to-end supply chain operations in both IBM’s Software and Retail Store Solutions groups.
