About Jay Li

I’m a multidisciplinary designer, photographer, film editor, and UX/UI learner who believes good design doesn’t need to shout — it just needs to feel right. With over four years of experience in branding, campaign design, and digital storytelling, I bring a calm, intentional approach to every project. Whether I’m building out product visuals at Evertz Microsystems, rebranding a community space like Wellington Square United Church, or creating logos for small businesses and creative studios, I care deeply about making things feel cohesive, clear, and emotionally grounded. I hold a BA Honours in Visual Arts and Communication, Media & Film from the University of Windsor, and I’m currently expanding my design practice through UX/UI learning and digital experimentation. My creative background spans both tech and independent work — I’ve collaborated with engineers, marketers, and developers to bring ideas to life across platforms, and I also co-run Lunafilm, a quiet, story-centered creative studio rooted in softness and strong visuals. I approach design like I approach leadership: with steady communication, thoughtful pacing, and a deep respect for process. I’ve led design teams during transitions, trained new staff, and supported rebrand projects from first sketch to final export. Beyond the screen, I’m also: • A part-time art director on indie film sets • A visual artist with interests in photography, painting, and illustration • A lifelong fan of palaeontology and paleoart — combining science and creativity when I can • A proud cat dad to Willow and Korra • And a collector of Rayquaza cards, because every designer needs a dragon I believe in minimalism, clarity, and kindness — in both design and life.
