About Jay Lovett
I was raised in Treutlen County. I am currently an Elementary Education major at Kennesaw State University. I was a student teacher my junior and senior year of high school in kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. Then later did my field experience at Y.E.L.L.S for freshman year of college Spring Semester of ‘23. For the Past two summers I was given the opportunity to be a camp counselor for Georgia 4-H. Each week we have a total of 1100 campers between the ages of 9 to 13, and even green strings ranging from 3 to 8 come on center and are distributed between 60 counselors. We do this for 7 weeks and by the end of the summer have enough hours with children that they average half a whole school year. I also was placed on a contract stating that when I received my degree I could go back to my hometown with a guaranteed position as an Elementary teacher.
