About Jay Maniyar

I am an international relations (IR) researcher. The topics of my general research interest are Japan, South Korea, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), China, the Indian Ocean, and the Indo-Pacific regions. I am a Research Fellow at the Defence Research and Studies (DRaS) think-tank. I also write columns for websites such as Raksha Anirveda. I also freelance actively. I take an avid interest in Indian national (including nuclear) security, climate change and the environment, law (Indian, international, maritime), and the activities of the Islamic State (IS, ISIS, ISIL, IS-Khurasan) terror group in India and globally. The central academic focus of my work lies in the domains of Foreign Policy and International Relations. Other areas that I have been interested in are Programming, Data Science, and New and Emerging Technologies (5G, AI, IoT, Robotics, etc.). Among my notable achievements, I am UGC-NET (June 2020) qualified for the role of 'Assistant Professor' in colleges and universities across India, have obtained innumerable certifications in a diverse set of fields not restricted to my working areas, and have had my articles published in several prominent journals, magazines, and websites. My publications number 90 (including acclaimed newspapers such as the Financial Express and the Times of India) and I have successfully cleared 140+ certifications. My cumulative research work experience is over 6 years. I have also appeared on television (WION, Voice of America) and the news media (South China Morning Post, EurAsian Times).
