About Jay Meilstrup

Jay Meilstrup unknowingly launched a career in gaming in 1984 when he pioneered the team concept of playing slot machines in Reno Nevada. Although quite successful at beating slot machines, he was not as successful at evading casino scrutiny and was quickly asked to leave most casinos in Northern Nevada. Upon being barred from Harold's Club, he was immediately offered the position of Casino Analyst and Sports Book Manager at Harold's Club and began his career in casino operations.In the 30 years since his unique entry into the gaming industry, Jay has opened four casinos from the ground up as General Manager, the first when he was only 28 years old. He has led a publicly traded gaming company as the President CEO, opened one of the largest and most successful gaming operations in North America, designed and marketed over 100 game concepts in table games, slots, bingo and Class II gaming. In addition to resort operations, Jay has also been a member of the Board of Directors of GameTech International, a member of the Board of Directors of Niagara Tourism serving two years as the Chairman of the Board and a member of the Board of Directors of the Niagara Economic Tourism Corporation. Jay has also received licenses or has been registered to operate and supply casinos in almost 100 different gaming jurisdictions in the US, Canada, Mexico, England, Guam, Spain, Sweden and multiple tribal jurisdictions.Currently, Jay is an expert witness regarding gaming intellectual property matters.
