About Jay Ponton

Jay Ponton has been an active real estate licensee for 37 years. Since 1996, Jay's annual production has placed him in the top 2% of all licensed agents in the United States, according to the National Association of REALTORS®. His real estate career began with Dot Wright Realty, in Hampton, VA then merged with Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc. That same year, Jay was awarded Long & Foster's Rookie of the Year in overall production in 1990. Jay has represented various builders and led the sales and marketing efforts for: Hideaway Bay, The Carriage Homes of Woodcreek, Tradewinds at Kiln Creek, Salt Ponds on the Bay, and Hunter's Glen. From 1997 to 2014, Jay successfully represented Anheuser-Busch, In-Bev, in the sales and marketing of Kingsmill on the James, through Kingsmill Realty, Inc and Busch Properties, Inc. Since 2014, Jay has served as Vice President of Luxury Homes with Williamsburg Realty and has achieved a total career sales volume exceeding a quarter billion dollars! Throughout his career, Jay has annually maintained award-winning levels of production in both New Homes and Re-Sale Homes. Over the years he has served on numerous committees for the Virginia Peninsula Association of REALTORS® and the Williamsburg Area Association of REALTORS® and is currently a member of WAAR's Professional Standards committee. Jay attained his Broker's License in 2002 and has trained and served as a Certified Ethics Instructor for the Virginia Association of REALTORS®. Jay's family has had long-standing real estate ties to the Virginia Peninsula since the mid 1800's. He graduated from McClean High School, McClean, VA in 1980 and attended Christopher Newport College, Newport News, VA, George Washington University, Washington, D.C, and Hampden-Sydney College. Always an advocate for continuing education, Jay currently holds the designations for Accredited Buyer's Representative, Senior's Real Estate Specialist, and is Luxury Homes Certified.
