About Jay Postic

Jay has over 15 years of experience in advocacy and movement building related to the rights of LGBTIQ persons, participating in various queer-feminist and anti-fascist organizations and networks in Western Balkans. As a Zagreb Pride activist, he has been focused on queer feminist organizing, education, research and advocacy pertaining to LGBTIQ rights in Croatia and internationally. In addition, he was initiator of the first conference on transgressing gender in region called “Two is Not Enough for Gender (E)quality” held in 2005 in Zagreb aimed at the interconnectedness of feminism, gender, and transgender issues. Following his passion for human rights and gender freedoms, he delivered over 100 trainings or workshops related to sex/gender, gender identity and gender expression, and published on the topic. As an Executive Coordinator of Zagreb Pride, Jay is responsible for organizational development, building partnerships, fundraising, research and education on LGBTIQ related issues as well as the Zagreb Pride March (largest political protest in Croatia). Jay received BA in Psychology and Women's Studies from the University of Reno, Nevada, and MA in Sociology from the San Diego State University.
