About Jay Roberts

Mr. Roberts is a Senior Associate, Construction Inspector, and Project Manager with 35+ years of experience as an architectural professional, with18 of those years dedicated to a wide expanse of construction, project management, and inspection experience. As an architect, he has ensured that a high level of design quality control is met without exception in all projects that he is involved with inside and outside of the office. He is an expert in understanding design intent within construction documents, coordinating structural steel, HVAC, BMS controls, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and security systems. He has successfully utilized his expertise in architectural design, construction administration, and construction project management on multiple government, commercial, institutional, industrial building projects, and was previously a Senior Construction Inspector for the Port Authority in NYC. Currently, he is working as construction inspector and construction manager on New Jersey Turnpike Authority HVAC Upgrades, Generator Replacement, Roadway Lighting, and Storm Pipe Cleaning projects. Currently, he has joined the NJTA Operations Department in assisting with managing emergency HVAC and controls matters throughout all Turnpike and Parkway facilities. Specific responsibilities for On-Call Maintenance / CM / Inspection Services for New Jersey Turnpike Authority have included monitoring work progress occurring throughout NJT and GSP toll buildings and NJ State Police Facilities. His responsibilities include holding project progress meetings with the Client, A/E, and Contractors, maintaining schedule reviews, inspecting on-going and completed work, and producing detailed punch lists with follow-up. In addition, he works closely with NJTA and GSP maintenance / operations personnel evaluating and offering solutions to any existing mechanical equipment failures or unanticipated shut-downs as needed. Also included are Inspections of HVAC equipment installations, associated piping, electrical power, ductwork, BMS, and fire alarm systems. Lastly, Mr. Roberts coordinates with the contractor and NJTA on scheduling NJDCA special inspections to satisfy all construction permits through to project closeout. He prides himself on developing strong, respectful, dependable working relationships with all state inspectors and representatives who are critical to the successful final completion of all NJTA projects.
