Jay is a Biodiversity Officer at the Environment Agency in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. Project work undertaken by Jay relating to bats has included scoping surveys, activity surveys, programming and deployment of SM2 and AnaBat remote bat detectors and detailed bat call and data analysis for several large wind farm developments. Jay is familiar with BatSound, BatScan, Analook and Kaleidoscope bat call analysis software. In addition, Jay has designed bespoke bat roost boxes for use in mitigation strategies for roosts including maternity roosts of over 150 bats within schools and private residences. Throughout the work undertaken in his role as an Ecologist, Jay has made extensive use of GIS mapping, including production of Phase 1 Habitat Survey maps, faunal survey maps, figures to illustrate mitigation and management plans, and interpretive projection of large volumes of data obtained from data centres or during extensive or successive surveys.
