Jay Lamar Thurston is a community-focused leader born and raised in the city of Chicago, with more than a decade of experience in workforce development, education, healthcare administration, and community-based programming. His career reflects a strong commitment to empowering individuals and families through access, advocacy, and sustainable support systems.Currently, Jay serves as the Workforce Development Leader at Bright Star Community Outreach, where he provides strategic leadership in workforce readiness initiatives. In this role, he develops and facilitates community engagement opportunities, connects individuals to employment pathways, and delivers case management services designed to strengthen long-term stability for families and community members.Jay formerly worked as a Lead Facilitator and Program Director at Health Core Clinic, where he directed the Strengthening Families Program. He trained facilitators, recruited and supported families through multi-week courses, delivered presentations to schools, churches, and community organizations.Jay Lamar Thurston is recognized for his leadership, organizational excellence, and passion for community transformation.
