About Jay Zanutto

My passion and talent lies in the evaluation, creation, and facilitation of learning tools (in person and online) that are both evidence -based and culturally informed for Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations in the health, education and child welfare sectors. For decades, I have been at work – in collaboration with many stakeholders (communities, organizations, service providers, health care professionals, researchers, government and grass roots organizers) in the health promotion and child welfare sectors in programming, facilitation and education. I have worked the frontline as an Outreach Worker in the Downtown East Side of Vancouver and youth counsellor for fly-in Indigenous communities, the rear guard as a university educator in Applied Health Sciences and a knowledge translation specialist for the child welfare sector, and everything in between. My experience has been a deep dive into the creation, distribution, training and facilitation of content relating to aspects of health equity, including but not limited to child welfare, addictions, chronic health conditions, physical activity and mental wellness, food sovereignty, cultural revitalization. In the last decade, I have specialized specifically in the creation of synchronous and asynchronous online training tools for academic institutions, child welfare organizations, and the allied health sector, and facilitating "train the trainer" sessions for government and non-profit organizations across the country. I am always looking for new ways to collaborate and partner on projects that promote Indigenous self-determination and amplify the powerful voices of future leaders!
