About Jayant Yadav

Jayant has 14 years of experience with over 12 years working in development, financing, acquisition and sale of infrastructure assets primarily in Asia with extensive experience in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Jayant has led the investment team at Equicap in setting up the South Asian infrastructure platform spanning investments in renewable energy, affordable housing, agri-tech and waste management, totaling over U$500M when commissioned. Other key responsibilities in his current role include investor management, IC approvals, business plans, due diligence, contract negotiations, KMP hiring, strategy, finance and planning, compliances. With a strong mandate to create sustainable infrastructure, our investments target over 2.5M people with improved level of service (of which over 0.5M expected to be those who are below poverty line) and about jobs being created during construction and operations phase. Equicap is the mandated exclusive developer team in South Asia for InfraCo Asia Development Pte Ltd. Equicap is involved in originating and executing transactions within infrastructure space on behalf of InfraCo. Our focus sectors are Renewable Energy, Transport & Logistics, Solid waste & Wastewater Management, Affordable Housing and Agriculture Supporting Infrastructure. Equicap also works with other infrastructure developers to provide our project development, EPC & tendering and fund raising expertise across the Asia and MEA regions. Previously, Jayant has worked with Nexif in their South Asia Investment team focused on M&A activities, contracts and negotiations and fund raising activities primarily for a hydro power project in Nepal and a waste to energy project in Sri Lanka. While also at Nexif, Jayant was based in Hanoi to close an acquisition of a distressed hydro power project and successfully raised funds for restart of construction of the hydro project. Prior to joining Nexif, Jayant was working with Azure Power, towards bidding and securing solar power project PPAs and successfully bid for 2 rooftop projects in Gujarat and raised debt capital for 2 ground mounted solar projects in Rajasthan. Prior to Azure and while at AES, Jayant was solely responsible for building financial models and analysis for hydro M & As, greenfield hydro projects and 3 gas based projects under development. Jayant completed his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and Bachelors in Technology from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad.
