About Jaydeep Das

As a passionate biotechnology enthusiast, I am deeply interested in the fascinating interplay between cells and synthetic materials. My ultimate goal is to leverage cutting-edge technological advancements to tackle some of the most pressing global health challenges of our time. In particular, I am currently focused on developing innovative synthetic scaffolds for 3D cell culture and T cell-based therapies that can help combat both solid and liquid malignancies. Aside from my research pursuits, I also enjoy exploring my creative side through various hobbies such as listening to music, painting and photography. Additionally, I am a keen traveller who loves to explore new cultures and stay up-to-date with the latest technological innovations and gadgets. As a Biotech graduate from VIT University and current doctoral student at IITB-Monash Research Academy, I have honed my technical skills and knowledge in molecular biology, assay biology, animal handling, and dosing techniques through both academic and industry experience. My attention to detail, accuracy in documentation and recordkeeping, and expertise in technology transfer and departmental presentations have also been valuable assets to my work. During my two years as a Research Associate in a CRO, I gained extensive knowledge and experience conducting and assisting with drug efficacy studies involving New Chemical Entities (NCEs) in the broad therapeutic area of inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. With a self-motivated and competitive nature, I am confident in my ability to tackle challenging tasks both independently and within a group, all while maintaining a high level of organization and meeting deadlines. Throughout my academic and professional career, I have demonstrated a passion for scientific learning and a willingness to take on new challenges. As a result, I was selected for the prestigious IAS-SRF program and completed three separate projects during my master's degree. In addition, I have published a review article on "Quantum Dots and their Clinical Application" in a peer-reviewed journal. Overall, my curious and open-minded approach to learning, coupled with my extensive skills and experience in the biotech field, make me a highly competitive and market-ready individual.
