About Jayden Almos

I have been working in the restaurant industry since I was fifteen years old. I started as a crew member at McDonald’s which taught me lasting communication and work efficiency skills. During this time I also worked as a construction labourer for a contractor by the name of Kevin Schmidt of Schmidt Construction. The company had been founded by his father in the year 1968. I worked with a small team of 4 other employees at the time, working on home renovation and new home construction projects. My job responsibilities included demolition, clean up, minor framing, insulating, concrete, rebar and light equipment operation. While working at these two companies I attended classes at the University of the Fraser Valley. I finished my career at McDonald’s at nineteen in a crew trainer position for both the front and back of house. I then transitioned all of the work ethic I had gained into my new position of dishwasher at the Keg Steakhouse and Bar while continuing to work in construction and take classes at UFV. Over the years I had worked hard to gain promotions eventually bringing me to the position of bartender and server. I opened the bar almost every Saturday night. This gave me the opportunity to quit my construction job and focus on finishing my degree. Working in the restaurant industry has been a wonderful experience through which I have gained valuable communication and problem solving skills. I have now shifted my career since gaining my degree at UFV from the restaurant industry to a Member Advisor position at Envision Financial.
