About Jayesh Parmar

I am an Associate Professor-Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at Larkin University, College of Pharmacy in Miami, FL. Previously, I was an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), School of Pharmacy. My career objective is to expand and enhance in the areas of academia, public health, comparative effectiveness and outcomes research in health care. I received bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Mumbai Educational Trust, India. I moved to the United States in 2004 to join the graduate program in pharmacy administration at University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), there I graduated with a PhD in Pharmacy Administration in December 2009. During my journey as a graduate student, I received a funded grant from Alcon Laboratories, Inc. for an Acute Otitis Externa outcomes study and my dissertation was focused on the effects of Hurricane Katrina on epilepsy patients in the Louisiana Medicaid population. I have taught teach public health for pharmacists, biostatistics, health care delivery and advanced pharmacy management at UMES. Also, worked collaboratively with the department of pharmaceutical sciences on a retrospective analysis of the effects of thyroid hormone on HSV-1 latency and reactivation. So far I have served as a chair of two departmental faculty/staff search committees and presently I am an active member of the admissions committee and professional development committee. Besides my work on retrospective database analysis, I have attended and given seminars on modeling, patient reported outcomes, clinical research, and developing survey instruments. I serve as a member of professional organizations, including the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics & Outcomes Research and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. I am also an honorary faculty member of the gamma-omicron chapter of the Phi Delta Chi pharmacy fraternity.
