About Jayma Meyer

Began legal career as an antitrust attorney at the Federal Trade Commission, Washington, D.C, where received a merit award and was the youngest woman attorney to argue a case on appeal to the Commission. In 1981, joined Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York City. From 1992-1994, while on a leave of absence from Simpson Thacher, taught at Stetson Law School, St. Petersburg, Florida. Established Simpson Thacher’s Los Angeles office in 1995 and in the fall of 1998, returned to the New York office where areas of concentration have been antitrust and sports law. Since 2014, also teach Sports Law and Public Policy at Indiana University every Spring Semester. In addition to representing numerous Fortune 50 companies on antitrust matters, have assisted pro bono the National Women's Law Center, California Legal-Aid Society, Hawaii ACLU and the California Women’s Law Center on Title IX matters; New Visions for Public Schools and the Urban Assembly Girls School for Criminal Justice on state educational matters; and the Center for Reproductive Rights on federal and state constitutional issues. Have lectured and appeared on sports law panels throughout the U.S.
