About Jayna Monroe
My name is Jayna (jay-nuh) Monroe, and I am a rising junior at Fordham College Rose Hill double majoring in Urban Studies & African and African American Studies with a minor in Economics. I am passionate about Black history, housing and food insecurity, and urban planning. In the past, I have had experience managing numerous social justice organizations where I coordinated clothing drives and book studies, organized panels of local experts, presented at faculty trainings, and worked on county-wide school curriculum changes. The majority of my outreach has been concentrated in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area, but I hope to expand my influence to the Belmont-Bronx community and New York City as a whole. Overall, my life’s work is helping get disenfranchised groups the justice they deserve.
