Background
About Jayna Williams
Decide who it is for, and what you hope to accomplish with it, and then design accordingly. I am passionate about light, the quality of light, the characteristics of the fixtures and performance of the controls. Our lives are shaped by light as we move through the world - where we shop, where we play, where we live. Lighting is the paintbrush that artists and designers use to shape our experience and LED lights provide a more versatile brush. Choosing the right fixture is only one part of the process. Understanding who lighting is for and what you hope to accomplish with the lighting precedes choosing the best fixture and right control. Lighting designer Jennifer Tipton says, “99.44 percent of the audience is not aware of the lighting, though 100 percent is affected by it.” The same can be said for controls. Seamless control and appropriate changes enhance the experience rather than drawing attention away from it.
