How do you feel about being in sales? Or in selling? Owning the identity of salesperson? Simple enough questions it would seem, but you'd be amazed by the answers I used to give myself and the ones I've received from people over the years. Often times it's answered with limiting beliefs, old constructs and paradigms and many negative emotions. Then, like ray of sun through a stormy sky, you meet people, listen and learn of the super powers that salespeople have in helping people see their life and business from a new perspective, to guide them into making decisions and taking actions that will forever change their lives. I am proud and humbled each day to be apart of this area of life and business, but it was not always the case.I have been in various sales industries for my whole working career, even on weekends during school and I can tell you that I completely bombed out in my first few roles. To the point of throwing in the towel and quitting, yes I quit; my introverted, non performing ass left (for many reasons I now help my clients work through and understand). I say all this to share, that you would not even recognise me from then, although I now leverage much of my inherent characteristics that I had then as my strengths today, but to do this I had a journey of self awareness, growth and skill development to walk. I learnt from many Mentors around the world, I learnt from my wins and the losses I had and still have on the front lines, I learnt that it is not about pure talent and personality, but that sales and serving people in this rewarding way is a skill that we can all learn and develop! My sales career for the most part was dedicated to changing my clients lives and helping the business owners I worked under to grow their revenue, but now I am driven by something larger. I realised that in the same way that I learnt from mentors and grew my earnings, I could teach and guide others to unlock their sales super powers and drastically impact their market and their personal accounts. Leading to more fulfilment and confidence in themselves, in their role as a human, a husband or wife, father or child. You've heard that sales is a part of everything and I have come to see the truth in this statement. When you learn the principles at play here, you learn that version 2.0 of yourself is but just a decision away! Only you can make it for yourself though. And here's the thing. you really CAN!
