About Jazlyn Burrell

I’m a Trent University alumnus with a dual BA Honours degree in Geography and Environmental Studies & Resource Management. My career has been deeply rooted in working with charities and conservation NGOs, particularly those integrating Indigenous communities into their initiatives. Fieldwork has consistently been the highlight of my professional journey! I leverage my expertise in Canadian ecology, geography, and resource management to design and implement projects focused on ecosystem monitoring, conservation, education, and restoration. My work has previously encompassed Eastern Moose, turtles, and old-growth forests. Currently, I serve as a Wildlife Analyst, collaborating with Inuit communities in Nunatsiavut on research projects involving Eastern moose, Torngat Mountains, Caribou, and geese. My role involves developing surveys and co-creating sustainable management recommendations to support Indigenous well-being. Outside of work, I’m enthusiastic about holistic health, psychology, travel, and photography. As the founder of Evolved Planet Photography, I bring over a decade of experience in capturing the beauty of our natural world. My passion is connecting people back to nature through the gifts of dyslexic out-of-the-box thinking. I’m eager to connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate with fellow enthusiasts and professionals in the field.
