About Jean Benhattar
Dr. Jean Benhattar, Ph.D, is the head of the Molecular Pathology in the Medisupport group (Switzerland). He got his BSc in chemistry at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and PhD in organic chemistry at the University of Montpellier (France) in 1984. He was a postdoctoral fellow in chemistry and further in molecular biology at Friedrich Miescher Institute (Basel, Switzerland) with Prof. Josef Jiricny. Then, he performed a second postdoctoral fellow at ISREC (Lausanne, Switzerland) with Prof. Bernard Hirt. In 1990 Dr. Benhattar joined the Institute of Pathology at the Lausanne University Hospital where he was for 23 years the head of molecular pathology. Throughout his career at the Lausanne University Hospital Dr. Benhattar's research has focused on genetic and epigenetic of cancer, regulation of telomerase, cancer stem cells and development of new diagnostic molecular tests.
